Manchester Super Giants produced a statement performance at Emirates Old Trafford, cruising to a commanding 10-wicket victory over SunRisers Leeds in the men’s derby in The Hundred 2026.

A superb bowling display set up the win before Tim Seifert and Paul Walter delivered a breathtaking chase, giving the Super Giants a major boost in their bid to secure a place in the Eliminator.

Put into bat, SunRisers Leeds were restricted to 127 as the Super Giants’ bowlers delivered one of their most disciplined performances of the campaign.

Gus Atkinson led the attack with a brilliant spell, claiming three wickets, while Sonny Baker continued his impressive run of form with two wickets. Liam Dawson also played a crucial role with the ball, applying pressure through the middle phase and ensuring the hosts never allowed the visitors to build any significant momentum.

With just 128 required, the Super Giants’ response was nothing short of emphatic. Tim Seifert took centre stage with a sensational unbeaten 80 from only 40 balls, striking the ball with authority throughout his innings.

At the other end, Paul Walter provided the perfect foil, remaining unbeaten on 44 from 28 balls. The pair put together an unbeaten 128-run opening partnership, combining aggression with intelligent strike rotation to complete the chase in just 67 balls.

The result gives the men’s team a strong chance of making the Eliminator, with the Super Giants now carrying significant momentum into the final stages of the competition. The victory was also a fitting response after the team’s previous defeat against SunRisers Leeds earlier in the campaign.

Earlier, the women’s team faced a tougher evening, going down by 41 runs to SunRisers Leeds at Emirates Old Trafford. Annabel Sutherland starred for the visitors with an unbeaten 62, helping them post 166 for four before the Super Giants were restricted to 125. The defeat brought the women’s campaign to an end, despite several encouraging performances throughout the tournament.
